The Map Room

The map room is so much more than a trendy place to be seen... It is appropriately described as a salon privè, for patrons who just need a break from the hustle of everyday life!

Taking influences from the 'Mapparium' in Boston, it is conceived as an inverted globe... A hollow sphere, where a map of the world is illuminated with peacock blue and brown and green. A tiny bench runs the border (the equator) of the room and is designed with a small bar, with servers inside, similar to the 'Vodka Bar' at the Royalton Hotel, in New York.

Like nothing anyone has seen, the map room, is both a talking point, but more importantly, a place of solitude and tranquillity, to escape from the outside world!

The map room will be located in three leading cities in Europe, with Paris as the first city, and Barcelona or Milan or Madrid thereafter, situated inside a 'chic style' hotel specifically chosen to reflect the various cities own unique ambiance and culture... Conceived intitially as a waiting area for the eatery  angels and demons  in nassau bahamas, it has been decided to operate the map room seperately as its own stand alone concept.

The project was initially under the direction and watchful eye of leading entrepreneur, Jean-Pierre Couton, visionary for many influential concepts in Paris, Milan and other leading European cities... As a result of his untimely and sudden passing, all of those involved in the map room are determined to ensure that Jean-Pierre's vision for the map room are fullfilled and completed as well as to a testement  to the honouring his memory...
